What's in my makeup bag?

Hey Fashionista's!

Was cleaning through my makeup collection, and thought I'd let you know what mine actually looks like!

My extremely messy makeup shelf in my wardrobe. I must point out that I do know exactly where everything thing is!

This is what is in my everyday makeup bag including; my makeup brushes, moisturiser, eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, blush, mouse foundation, concealer, foundation primer, eyeliner primer and finishing off makeup spray.

This is whatever makeup that was not in my everyday makeup bag, which includes several bottles of the same foundation, but in different shades (?), several shades of eye shadows, Revlon nude lipstick and other random makeup bits and pieces

Random brushes which I came across, many I didn't even know I had (?)

Style File: Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen!

Hey Fashionista's!

I have had an obsession with the Olsen Twins since I was a young girl watching "The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley" - wow that brings back memories! (One of me having to vomit in the video store when renting these video's - coincidence?). Regardless, I grew up watching these girls TV shows, movies and buying every single Mary-Kate and Ashley fashion product that made it to Australian shores, but as I have gotten older I realised how much these twins have influenced me throughout my life.

I can confidently say that my life would have been shaped very differently if it wasn't for these two actresses (?), fashion designers but most importantly these fashion icons.

And my ALL TIME favourite candid photo of the Olsen twins

However, even though I LOVE the Olsen twins in every aspect, I must admit that I do not agree with them wearing and/or designing clothes with real Fur.

October Wish List!

Hey Fashionista's!

So, seeing as its the last day of September in Australia today (by the way, is it me or is 2012 going EXTREMELY fast?) I thought what better way to introduce the new month than a October wish list!

Below is a few things on my October wish list, if only my bank account could keep up with my forever growing wish list, but oh well a girl can dream can't she?

I am loving leather skirts for this fall/summer season but I find it very hard to find a great leather skirt. I really like this skirt which I found on the Supre sale website because its a different approach to the regular leather skirt.

I don't know about everyone else, actually I think I do because everyone seems to be wearing Peplum, because they are amazzzzing! I'm loving all of these above styles and am wishing to buy one of each!

I came across this waver/crimper from a you tube tutorial and absolutely loved how the hair turned out. I am incredibly straight, thin and boring hair and anything that can give me a fuller look is definitely going to be something on my wish list, can't wait for next paycheck!

I had never shopped at "Ice" before but went with a friend who ended up buying some amazingly beautiful clothes, on my wish list is definitely this long backless maxi dress, however I couldn't find a picture on line but I found this dress on line for only $20. Is it just me or is this dress amazingly cool in an odd sort of way (?)
Now who doesn't have a Mac lipstick on their wish list! This red lipstick is amazing and I just love, love, love it!

OK, so I think I just came out to admit that I was totally a "The Hills" fan, too much? Who cares! I absolutely love Lauren Conrad and think she is an amazing fashion and beauty icon in this day and age. I had a flip through this book and thought it would be an interesting read, and maybe a good addition  for my fashion/beauty section on my bookshelf!

Once again, who doesn't need a nude Mac lipstick in their makeup bag. Love, love this colour!

These Bardot tights are something that is defiantly on my October wish list, even though it will be getting hotter, maybe I didn't think that through very well (?). I love the leather pants and cannot wait to get my grubby hands on these bad boys!

OK, so maybe its not fashion and beauty related but who cares seriously?. I have decided that once I finish my current obsession Dawson's Creek that I would actually finish the One Tree Hill obsession I once had in high school!

Now normally my wish list in an everyday situation would blabber on for a few, well let's me serious, hours, but when it comes down to making a real list, I couldn't think of anything, go-figure!

What's on your October Wish List?

Bun Enhancer Video Tutorial!

Hey Fashionista's!

So I uploaded a tutorial on how to use a bun enhancer a couple of weeks ago, but I only used pictures and wasn't quite sure how effective that actually was, so instead I've done a video tutorial on how to use a Bun Enhancer.

Hopefully this is more effective then just writing a list point of things to do!

Please comment below if this video was far more educational, it would mean a lot!

Bun Enhancer!

Hey Fashionistas!

So I wanted to share with you my lover, now I don't think anyone really can comprehend my love for this product, or maybe they do seeing as I use it pretty much everyday, At university, work and when going out, but I especially wanted to share it with you guys!

So I bought this product, 'The Bun Enhancer' from my local cheap store for only $2.99, and it has been the best $2.99 spent in a while (well that's my true opinion).

I tried several other products to get the best looking Bun possible, from using an actual old sock were I cut the end off, and rolling the sock down to help create the Bun look, however my hair has far too many layers for that, and also I wasn't very good at doing that!

Then I tried an actually product which replaced using an actual sock, but I found I still had the same problem I did with the actual sock, so I thought my last resort I would try the straight bun enhancer, and my gosh I love it!

I used to sister to show you all exactly how to use the Bun Enhancer, and this is how you do it:

1. Brush your hair
2. Put your hair in a pony tail (the higher your pony tail is, the higher your bun will sit)
3. Put the bun enhancer over your pony tail, starting at the tip of the hair
4. Roll the hair over the bun enhancer, as you do it this will come closer to your scalp
5. When it can't roll anymore, sweep the side of the bun enhancer to form a circle
6. Then get your hair and move it over to cover the bun enhancer, use bobby pins to make sure it covers the bum enhancer completely, as well as pinning down loose hair.
7. I always use hair spray on the bun when for a night out, as well as using hair mousse to make sure all my hair slides flat into the bun.

Hopefully, this has helped you in using a Bun Enhancer :) I have put pictures below, however I'm not sure if they will be in order, but regardless I hope it helps!

Ps, you can make your bun with a ' messy look' or a 'sleek back look', both are shown below:

More New Beauty Products!

Hey Fashionista's!

So you know when you go to a store and there's a sale/clearance table and you start strategically going through all the products (no? Just me?) anyways, thats what I did today on my Sunday shopping trip and I noticed that every single sale table I went to, within minutes I was fighting people off for products! So besides my boxing exercise with other shoppers I once again came across great beauty product sales, the list as followed:

1. Thin Lizzy foundation brush for only $5, a perfect size to put in my handbag and also unbelievable price was the reasoning behind this purchase.

2. L'oreal Concealer makeup brush for only $5?! Like you wouldn't buy that at that price, and it helped that I needed a new brush anyways :)

3. Ultra 3 mineral mousse foundation, for only $8.95. Now I have never used Ultra 3 beauty products before so I'm not quite sure what to expect but I have high standard after the perfect completion test I did on my skin .

4. Ultra 3 concealer for only $5.95, once again I have never used this product before but I find that lipstick looking concealers are much easier for application than other types of concealers, and much easier to blend in.

All for $24.90 - Bargain!

Now I picked up all these products from Terry White Chemist, which I just randomly stumbled in on whilst my boyfriend took a phone call and was surprised by all the beauty sales they had on (watch out Priceline!)

Have you used Ultra 3 beauty projects? Let me know!

New store obsession!

Hey fashionistas!

I change my mind! It's done, changed, no more, nothing you can do about it, I now am obsessed with Priceline!

Now the amount of times I followed my friend into that store and just stood there impatiently as she spent what seemed like hours going through all the types of foundation, then makeup brushes and then facial cleansers just to find the most perfect product for her, happened often, like once a week, and I never really took notice that Priceline could be a one stop shop for everything beauty related, but it really is!

It was then my turn to spend what seemed like hours looking through every section of the store and admiring all the fabulous products they have on offer! And I had to reframe by self (with the help of my bank account) to only buy the following products:

1. Australis makeup finishing spritz 150ml for $11.21

2. Savy by DB smooth finish primer for $8.99

3. Nivea daily essentials day moisturizer for $ $8.99

Total = $29.19 and money well spent I think! Whilst in Priceline I had excellent customer service from the workers there (I myself work in customer service and am picky on how people treat me when helping me because I pthink "if I have to pretend (whoops did I say that) to be nice to customer all day then you should to", wow didn't that turn into a rant and a half!. The point of the impressive customer service they had was that the worker helped me in finding a way to accommodate my sensitive and dry flaky skin, which is very evident when I wear foundation! So this is what the Priceline worker taught me:

1. That your moisturizer is the most important thing of your make up routine! Like I have mentioned (about a million times by now) I'm very limited when it comes to an income and because of this I was using any random moisture from any recognizable brand. I was using Olay with SPF 30+ and there is nothing wrong with that product at all but for
my skin and my age it was a problem! I was informed that Olay is for a mature skin, and my 20 year old skin is not something to be considered 'mature'. Therefore Ivwas suggested that I use the Nivea moisturizer instead and so far I have had no complaints!
My skin is not as flaky when foundation is put on over the top :)

Have you shopped at Priceline or have an obsession with a shop of your own? Let me know!

Online Department Store Shopping

Hey Fashionista's!

So, I'm not sure how many of you bloggers are currently studying at the moment, but I can tell you that being a university student and keeping up with new fashion trends and the price tags that come with them can sometimes cause some strain on my minimal weekly income. So I came across a department store name 'Target', maybe you have heard of it? Just Kiddding! But seriously... Target has been keeping up with the new 'It' trends that other Fashion stores are selling and I was so surprised when  I went online and saw on trend clothes at a fraction of the cost! So I thought I would show you some of the latest products I have recently purchused from www.target.com.au (the Australia website link)

I bought this Faux Fur jacket from Target (fur jacekts have always been my favourite fashion statement piece!) after seeing a girl at University wearing it and thought it looked amazing on! (Note: I never wear it button uped like the model does, it seems to make it look less fashionable) So whilst in a two hour lecture at university I decided that I would much rather be spending my hard earnt money!

So, whilst writing this blog my computer has decided to be a diva and not let me upload photos! So here is the link to the webpage:

Target Faux Fur Jacket

Also, whilst I was shopping online I came across some staples for every outfits at unbelievable prices (remember my uni student predicament lol) and these everyday fashion pieces included:

For only $10 you can never go wrong with having too many black slip on shoes can you?!

I bought a few other bits and pieces from the online Target website as well but nothing else worth a big mention! I just couldn't believe the clothing, shoes and accessories that they have in store whilst being point on with the current trends as well as unblievably cheap prices!

Hope I opened up all your Fashionita's minds that department stores like Target really aren't that bad in the way in which some people respond to "oh you got that from Target? Rally?" I know I have gotten that a few times, has anyone else? Comment below and let me know!

If you want me to do a post on a certain topic just let me know by emailing be at currentfashionista@gmail.com and I would be more than honoured to do so.

Hope you all have a great day/ night!

Loveeeee Jess x

Ps sorry for any spelling mistakes, my computer took diva to a whole new level and everything decided to stop working, even spell check!

Welcome Current Fashionista's!

Welcome Fashionista's!

Hi Everyone! I'm new to the 'blogging-sphere' but have been reading fashion and beauty blog's for as long as I can remember, so I thought I would take the giant leap and hopefully not fail into doing my own blog!

So below I've comprised some fun facts about me to start this fun adventure off!

Here we goooooo....

My names Jessica, I live in Sydney Australia and am currently studying Media and Communications majoring in Advertising/Marketing and PR and can honestly say that I am loving it! My dream in life is to eventually open up my own Fashion PR Firm, but for now I'm just slowly making my way in to the deep dark and never forgiving Fashion Industry but the excitement makes that all disappear.

I'm a typical girly-girly and enjoy watching the stereotypical movies such as 'The Devil Wears Prada', 'How to loose a guy in 10 days', 'The Notebook', 'Titanic' and 'Walk the Line' - Don't judge me too hard!

If you ever want to chat about Fashion related, or really anything, just e-mail me at currentfashionista@gmail.com

Thanks!
